Dusseldorf

Our passion for ramen began in Düsseldorf, a place known for its vibrant Japanese district, "Little Tokyo".
is known. Here we discovered our passion for ramen at Takumi and Naniwa restaurants, where we especially tried our favorite ramen, the tantanmen, and fell in love with their taste.

When we came up with the idea for TADA Ramen, we wanted to ensure that our ramen was as authentic and delicious as the original, so we worked closely with a Japanese ramen expert from Düsseldorf to ensure that every ingredient and spice was perfectly balanced is. We tried different variations, refined our recipes and spent many long hours in the kitchen to bring our ramen to the highest level of taste, without any flavor enhancers or preservatives.

Our startup story is one of passion, dedication and collaboration. We took inspiration from our favorite dish and created our own unique interpretation that delights our customers. We are proud to have been able to bring our love of ramen to the world and look forward to continuing our culinary journey.

Lampertheim

In Lampertheim we discovered that it is not normal to go out for traditional ramen. So we made our way to Mannheim and visited several restaurants that had ramen on the menu. But to our disappointment, what ended up in our bowls was a broth with noodles and some vegetables that had neither the taste nor the texture of traditional ramen. So the culinary ramen trip to Mannheim was not a success until then. Since 2021 there has finally been an authentic ramen bar in Mannheim.

The largest city in our area is Frankfurt. We had already heard a lot about the ramen scene in Frankfurt and were curious to experience it ourselves. On our first try, we ended up choosing a restaurant that was considered to have the best ramen in town. As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by a delicious smell of broth and spices. The broth was rich and full of flavor, the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the sides complemented the dish perfectly. It was an experience that taught us that finding authentic dishes can sometimes be difficult, but worth the effort.

We had discovered that it wasn't always easy to find traditional ramen and that many restaurants served a simplified version of the dish. How can we manage to easily cook ramen at home and experience the taste and aroma of authentic ramen.? We decided to start TADA Ramen and offer high quality products for making ramen at home. We would ensure that the ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality and the recipes are easy to follow so that everyone can prepare a delicious dish. Various basic broths, seasoning sauces, pastes, oils and noodles were tested and we experimented with different spices and side dishes. We spent weeks refining our recipes and ensuring that everyone who purchases our ingredients has the best possible ramen experience at home.

Copenhagen

At the time of the idea for our startup, Tim Mälzer was asked to cook delicious ramen in the popular Slurp Ramen Joint in Copenhagen on the VOX show Kitchen Impossible. We decided to contact Philipp and exchange ideas with him about his experiences and ideas.

Just two weeks later we met in Copenhagen and were introduced to the world of ramen by Philipp. We delved deep into the flavors and textures of the different ramen variants and learned more about the history and meaning of this dish. We also discussed various ideas and concepts for TADA Ramen.

It was an unforgettable experience and we are very grateful to Philipp for his generous time and knowledge. We are still in contact today and will always remember this experience. Through meeting Philipp, we not only deepened our passion for ramen, but also gained valuable insights into the art of cooking and the importance of encounters and exchange. Thank you, Philipp, for this unforgettable experience!

Hamburg

We applied to the FOOD Innovation Camp 2021 with TADA Ramen without knowing what to expect. We were overwhelmed by the positive response we received from the jury and camp visitors.

We sent one of our first product samples, which was ready in time for the competition after a long product development period, to the jury as a tasting sample. We are grateful for the support we have received on our journey. Without the FOOD Innovation Camp and the REWE special prize, we might not have had the chance to make TADA Ramen accessible to a wider audience so quickly.

Our story shows that it's worth working hard and believing in your ideas. We hope that with our success story we can motivate others to pursue and realize their own business ideas. We are excited to see what the future holds and look forward to further developing our company.

FAQs

What does “TADA” stand for?

"Tada" is an expression of joy, excitement, or surprise, often used to celebrate the completion of a task or the unveiling of a gift or surprise. It's an informal and often fun way to show that you've accomplished something or that something exciting or interesting has happened.

The name TADA Ramen combines the catchy and easy-to-remember expression “Tada” with the product “Ramen”.

"Itadakimasu" is a Japanese expression commonly used before eating that means "I receive (this food) gratefully." It is an expression of respect and appreciation for the food and the people who prepared it. It was only after TADA Ramen was named that we realized that TADA is located in Itadakimau.

How did you come up with the idea of TADA Ramen?

Our experience in one of Europe's largest Japanese neighborhoods in Düsseldorf showed us how incredibly delicious ramen can be. However, when we tried to make it at home, we were quickly overwhelmed by the complexity of the ingredients and the long cooking time needed to achieve the intensity of the flavor. Instant ramen was not an option for us due to the ingredients and packaging style.

That's why we decided to create our own ramen, allowing our customers to make authentic and sustainable ramen at home. We've perfected the recipe so anyone can make authentic and delicious ramen soup in just a few steps.

We are proud to give our customers a way to share their love of ramen while remaining sustainable and healthy. Our ramen contains no artificial flavors or preservatives, and we keep our packaging waste to a minimum.

What tips do we have for other founders?

Find your way! Also seek support from experienced people, absorb experiences, but adapt them individually to your needs and personalities.
Get out! Don't hide your idea, go out there and let others share in your story and startup and product development, you will receive great support.

And the last tip is that with every start-up, with every founding story, there are always setbacks. Then don't let your head down, there is always a new solution, nothing happens without a reason and the best way to find fresh strength, inspiration and innovative solutions is with a good bowl of ramen. ITADAkimas – Bon appetit.
